games and developers learned and improved over the years. If the person writing the guide is saying "just fill the rest of your inventory up with 5%AR and 3/20/30 charms" their build may or may not really hold up without hundreds of dollars worth of gear.Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade ThreadĮh, I just replied with a general insult since there wasn't much else to address.ĭiablo 2 is not a complex game in any way, the builds are cookie cutter ( you pick a skill and all the skills that buff it, wow so complex ), most top builds use the same items ( enigma so on ), the endgame content is very, very limited and consists mainly of killing the same bosses over and over and over or doing xp runs in the same areas.ĭiablo 2 was a good game at one point but by todays standards it is obsolete as hell, because guess what. IMO the biggest thing to consider is just having enough varied damage types that you don't get completely stonewalled when you hit a map where everything seems to be resistant.ĭo look at some guides to see what branches along class trees seem viable late game, but be careful as many of the guides you'll find with Google search assume you're either using a character editor or spent hundreds of dollars on buying top gear. Hybrid sorceress, focusing on one element for DPS but splashing into another enough to deal with immunes will get you through as well and teleport is going to make farming bosses for gear/runes/levels as needed much more efficient. Wind druid also seemed OK for me, but it felt like getting into Hell difficulty his power level really stopped scaling and parts of that were quite a slog. It runs good without best in slot gear and has enough damage type options (plus curses) to deal with resistances in enemies that you'll find later on. Summon necromancer (use the fishy-mancer guide) is probably the most reliable to run solo self found to clear the game.
